The Oakland Raiders are the leading candidate in the trade talks for Donovan McNabb. That is the consensus among media "experts" who are also saying one of the hold-ups in making this happen is that McNabb doesn't want to play in Oakland. His attitude is more than understandable when you consider the recent history of the Raiders. They don't have a very good track record for winning since they lost the Super Bowl in 2002. Seven straight season of at least 11 losses isn't much incentive for a high caliber player to come to Oakland. This slide show will offer five good reasons ...
Going into the offseason following the 2009 season, the Oakland Athletics had depth at the outfield position. The question was what to do with Rajai Davis, Ryan Sweeney, Scott Hairston, Travis Buck, Aaron Cunningham, Eric Patterson, and Jack Cust. Then they started a plethora of offseason moves including the signings of Coco Crisp and Gabe Gross, and trading for Jake Fox and Michael Taylor. The question is still the same, only half the outfielders in question are new faces. Spring Training hasn't yet answered the overall outfield questions, but the depth in the outfield is quite possibly about to impact the depth ...
As much as the media has been playing up and down the Donovan McNabb deal, two questions keep resurfacing that make the Raider Nation uneasy. The first one is obvious...does this mean that JaMarcus Russell just got tossed under the bus? Or does this mean that Al Davis wants another quarterback to show Russell how to do it, before McNabb's impending free agency next year makes the Raiders kick him loose? The second question comes with the impending draft. Why don't the Raiders use the No. 8 pick on a quarterback that is presently coming around if Russell is truly shot? I know ...
First and foremost, I am a 49ers fan.  That said, I'm not a Raider hater.  In my dream of dreams, I imagine San Francisco edging out Oakland in the Superbowl.  Now, as the 49ers find themselves surrounded by hope and show real promise and forward direction, the Raiders are seen with their backs to the wall—desperate to make a game-changing move. And the correct move is to acquire Donovan McNabb. As I awoke today, I heard a report that McNabb had been acquired by the Raiders for this year's second and next year's fourth round draft picks.  April-freaking-fools to Raider Nation. I read about ...
A Raiders blog is reporting that the Chiefs have offered Kirk Morrison a contract. So far it is only being reported by one source and may not be true. Kirk Morrison is a restricted free-agent who was giving a third round tender, so any team willing to sign him will have to give one of their third round picks to the Raiders. And the Raiders would be given five days to match the contract offered to Morrison. But here's the thing.  According to the report the Chiefs are offering Morrison a four-year deal worth $45 million and $13 million guaranteed. For that price I ...
On April 1, 1985, Sports Illustrated published a story by George Plimpton called “The Curious Case of Sidd Finch ” which introduced the world to an eccentric and reclusive rookie in the New York Mets organization whose fastball was clocked at a shocking 168 mph. The story featured quotes from players and coaches who had apparently witnessed the secret workout that took place in a secluded corner of the Mets spring training facilities, included bizarre background info about Finch, and was subsequently eaten up by baseball fans across the nation who were eager to witness this ...
Hello all Raiders fans in this community. First I want to say I don't speak English perfectly, so if there are some grammatical mistakes say it to me and I will fix it. OK I will start speaking about Gradkowski. When Russell was benched and Gradkowski started, he show leadership, heart, passion and most importantly desire to win and be a good QB. A lot of people say he can be a good QB, but that he isn't a long-term solution and will be cut before the start of the new season just like Jeff Garcia. ...
