Sorry all you Raider haters out there, there's nothing to laugh about this year.  The Oakland Raiders have had the hands-down best draft in the National Football League in 2010. The only things that I would have done differently would have been to add a blocking fullback and another center, but neither were pressing needs. Nevertheless, I'd like to see the Raiders sign free-agent center Kevin Mawae.  His veteran presence would be conducive for this young group of linemen. Of course, the NFL Draft should always be taken with a grain of salt, because there is no telling what the prospects will do ...
Today, on Day 3 of the Draft, the Washington Redskins traded Jason Campbell to the Oakland Raiders. Ever since Mike Shannahan was hired, it was expected that Campbell would be traded. He wanted a guy in whom he could trust to run his offense, and when he traded for Donovan McNabb, it was apparent that Campbell wasn’t that guy. I think this is a win-win situation for all parties. The Washington Redskins can move forward and eliminate any quarterback controversy distractions. Donovan McNabb can now simply focus on learning the playbook and developing a rapport with his teammates without having Campbell lurking over ...
Will the real Al Davis please stand up?   The AFC West just got a new quarterback, and he’s coming there with a chip on his shoulder.   In what is becoming one of the more interesting stories of the 2010 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders appear to have a coherent plan and are executing it with style.   The Raiders acquired Jason Campbell for a fourth-round draft pick in the 2012 NFL Draft from the Washington Redskins.   You read that right, the 2012 NFL Draft.   Campbell was a first-round draft pick in 2005 and started 52 games for the Redskins. He had 55 touchdowns and 38 interceptions ...
The Raiders have just acquired Jason Campbell in a trade for a fourth round draft pick with the Washington Redskins. Does signing Jason Campbell mean he'll automatically be Oakland's starter? Well, he has put up some decent numbers, has been playing for six seasons, and has been a starter in Washington for a while. So yeah, Campbell will Oakland's starter. But what does singing Jason Campbell mean for JaMarcus Russell? It means a lot. Before acquiring Campbell, it was announced that the Raiders will start Russell for the upcoming 2010-11 season. They were gonna give him one last chance. But I guess that 3 ...
When the Oakland Raiders drafted JaMarcus Russell with the first overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, they envisioned this huge young man to be taking snaps for them for at least the next decade. He may have taken his last snap with them in 2009. The Raiders just acquired veteran starter Jason Campbell from the Washington Redskins in a trade, and Campbell has a very good chance at being named the starter for the 2010 season. He is coming off his best season as a pro, despite playing behind a horrible offensive line. The Raiders also have a below average offensive ...
This just keeps getting better! NFL network analyst Jason LaCamfora and ESPN's Adam Schefter are reporting that the front offices of the Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins have worked out a trade that will bring Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell to Oakland. The deal will send Campbell to Oakland for "undisclosed future draft pick". The Raiders have also re-signed Campbell to a contract extension that will keep him in Oakland through at least 2011. This trade has been speculated about constantly since Washington acquired Donovan McNabb from the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this month. This makes a lot of sense for all parties involved. Oakland needed an ...
This just in, the Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins have argeed on a trade that will send QB Jason Campbell to the Oakland Raiders details on the deal are still coming but what I've heard it was for a 6th round pick. For all of you JaMarcus Russell haters the day has come, the Oakland Raiders have landed a new QB and Russell now lands to the bench! What do you guys think about this deal? Welcome to the sliver and black Campbell! A fresh start for Campbell, a fresh start for Oakland, I can't wait!Read more Oakland Raiders news on BleacherReport.com
The Raiders have been involved in many rumors this off-season. Many believed that they were the front runner for Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb. The deal did not follow through and McNabb was traded to Washington to be the starter. Jason Campbell, who was previously starting in Washington, was pushed aside as if Bruce Allen had just bought a new action figure. Shortly after, rumors of Jason Campbell being traded started to come up. One of the teams mentioned were the Oakland Raiders. Those rumors were just rumors as the Raiders did not make a move for Campbell, yet. On day three of the 2010 NFL Draft, ...
"...the Oakland Raiders select, Lamarr Houston, defensive tackle, Texas." Wait. What? That can't be right, can it? The Raiders don't make two good picks in a row, do they? Apparently, they do! Whoever is responsible for this draft-day turn around is officially on Raider Nation's Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanzaa/Winter Solstice gift list (did I forget anyone?). Lamarr Houston was not the best defensive tackle in the draft, but he is quite possibly the most versatile. He should be a nice addition to help improve Oakland's ailing defense. Houston started his football career at running back, then grew—a lot! He came to the University of Texas as ...
The Raiders' 2010 draft seemed almost perfect. We got a new leader for our defense in Rolando McClain on day one. And then on day two we addressed both lines of scrimmage, just like Tom Cable suggested we would in his press conference the night before. In the second round we filled our biggest need on defense drafting a big 300 pound defensive tackle. Actually, wait, that's not right. According to Tom Cable at a press conference following day two of the draft, we drafted a 300 pound defensive end. "I think Lamarr Houston will play defensive end in our scheme," Cable said."We expect the ...
