Ice Cube is a man who wears many hats. He is a rapper, actor, producer and now a director. ESPN's latest series, 30 for 30, gave Ice Cube the chance to direct a documentary on the Los Angeles Raiders and their impact on the city and the culture of rap.
It's 2010 and the most popular league in the nation currently doesn't have a team in one of the biggest markets in the nation. L.A. has a large population, and the NFL and a team or two are missing out on a great financial opportunity.
The MLB and NBA have two teams ...
There is no doubt the Raiders will be an improved football team in 2010 for many reasons. They also, for the first time in several years, will be a fantasy relevant team.
I'm not sure the exact requirements to be considered a fantasy expert are, but since I regularly play in 8-10 money leagues per year and have consistently showed a positive return on my investment I do feel my opinions can at least be considered as relevant.
The fact that I will be targeting Raiders players for the first time in several years is also relevant.
What follows will be what ...
Last week I asked Raider Nation who they thought was on the hot seat in Oakland. They spoke out and some of you may be surprised by their responses.
I added two people that I also thought were on the hot seat, let's see what the Raider Nation had to say.
Let us know if you agree or disagree with the people on the Hot Seat.Begin Slideshow
Some Oakland Raiders get more exposure than others. Here is a list of players who are on the 2010 roster. Let's get to know a little more about them.
The target group for this article are those players from colleges in Louisiana, Texas, and California.
Why those three states? No reason but one. Years ago the migration pattern for people looking for opportunities was the following:
Folks moved from the farmland and swamp land of Louisiana to spacious Texas.
Folks moved from the wild, wild, west of Texas to the wild, wild west of California.
So, logical or not, the schools who produced some of the Oakland Raiders ...
After the Oakland Raiders traded for the Washington Redskins' Jason Campbell, the speculation in the swirling rumors of JaMarcus Russell's imminent demise was replaced with inevitability.
The big man with the even bigger contract was due $9.45 million in the upcoming season and, by all accounts, nothing about the kid warranted rolling the dice when that kind of money was at stake.
And so the axe fell on May 6th, putting Russell firmly in the running for the title of Biggest Bust in the History of the National Football League.
That's gotta sting.
The news has been fodder for numerous punchlines and snicker-inducing jabs ...
It's been hard to find time to call NFL players out this offseason, what with the NFL Draft taking up most of peoples precious time, and the constant headline grabbing news of Ben Roethlisberger occupying the media.
But now we arrive in a rather dry spot in the NFL offseason, and with news at an all time low, now is the perfect time to call out a few names, and judge just what they are in store for this upcoming season.
2009 is now irrelevant, and as we edge closer to the beloved month of September a few questions arise for many ...
Sometimes it is necessary to re-teach or repeat a lesson in order to assure comprehension and retention. This idea is applied to the Oakland Raiders.
A few good grades on draft choices and releasing some players is good, but more lessons need to be learned. A lesson on harmony and on being of the same mind might help synchronize the actions and reactions of the Oakland Raiders.
The Article
Harmony is a beautiful concept. In music, it can take different forms. In professional football there are concepts and forms.
In a jazz ensemble, every man improvises and plays his instrument with a unique expression, ...
Most of the offseason for the Raiders has revolved around the draft and the release of JaMarcus Russell.
However, there is one group that will play a key role in determining how well the Raiders do this coming season. This group will benefit from having another year of experience, an offensive coordinator, and a new quarterback at helm.
That group is the wide receivers.
As of now, the Raiders have 11 receivers and possibly six spots open. Here is a short look at who they are and who might or might not make the cut.

I conducted a survey recently, asking people what they thought was a perfect game.
98.2 percent of the people surveyed, thought it related to a guy who spits crazy lines at a ton of girls in a bar, and lands a mass amount of tail in the process.
I guess you could say, it relates to witnessing the ultimate, Mack Daddy.
We are actually referring to watching a perfect game in baseball.
Dallas Braden did it, yesterday, on Mother’s Day!
It was only one of 19 perfect games pitched in Major League Baseball history.
Mike and Mike in the Morning showed a stat how Dallas Braden ...
This article was published sometime ago. Now, I want to ask you:
Was JaMarcus Russell the Jonah who caused the storm?
Is there more to it than just getting rid of one man?
Here is the story from the archives:
Was there a storm raging, Raider Nation and Oakland Raiders?
Let's just say we are on a ship, going somewhere.
Suddenly a storm forms.
Our ship, the Oakland Raiders, is rocking, rolling, and reeling on the water.
Why, we ask?
Might there be Jonahs on our ship, our team?
Yes, they are good people, but, for some reason we do not fully understand, they seem to be the cause of a storm, of ...
