The former Washington Redskins Quarterback Jason Campbell has not had the best career.  By no means has he had the worst either.  His supporting cast in Washington was not that great, and constantly changing systems and having people in your city talk about wanting you out makes it hard for a player to get confident and preform up to their potential.   Campbell getting traded to Oakland is the best for both teams.  Oakland finally gets an established Quarterback, and Washington finally gets what they wanted, Jason Campbell gone.   Campbell has a lot of upside compared to some other quarterbacks.  First ...
Take a good look at the picture on the right. From the player in the photo to his hangdog expression, it is endemic of the Raiders' issues for the better part of this decade. An underachieving player walking off the field after yet another disappointment, unable to hide his defeat; a scene all too familiar to Raider fans in recent times. Since the beginning, Al Davis treated his stars like stars. He has enabled them and entitled them to preferential treatment, inflated salaries, and a general all-around "do what you like as long as you perform on Sundays" attitude. Back in the salad days of the '70s ...
The Raiders offer little for fantasy owners, but at least they got rid of JaMarcus Russell. They don’t have many weapons on offense, but Jason Campbell is a clear upgrade.   Fantasy Playoffs Schedule :  Moderate The Raiders take on the Jaguars in Jacksonville in Week 14 and then the Broncos and Colts at home.  Zach Miller is probably the only guy you can count on in the fantasy playoffs.     Five-Star Fantasy Options None     Four-Star Fantasy Options None     Three-Star Fantasy Options Zach Miller—Miller caught 66 passes for 805 yards and three scores. Campbell displayed the ability to get the ball to the ...
All the additions and improvements made by the Oakland Raiders mean absolutely nothing if those new faces don't live up to their expectations. The Raiders didn't add these new faces merely to provide depth; some of these players were picked up by the team to contribute immediately. If those select players are not able to perform like expected, all the off-season work will be for nothing. This slide show will discuss the five new faces the Raiders and their fans will be counting on to be more than simply "camp bodies," but rather players that are expected to play significant roles in ...
Looking into the history books it cannot be denied: the Raiders have an awesome history as a franchise. On the offensive side, they could almost field a complete squad, and if they would let in our defense, we could have a full roster. For your amusement, here and now, are 10 past players and their present-day counterparts from the silver and black. Get some face paint, open the photo album, and enjoy!Begin Slideshow
When I first arrived at the Oakland Coliseum for Tuesday's game against the visiting Cincinnati Reds, the sky was mostly blue as the sun was successfully holding streaks of gloom at bay. By the time the Athletics had finished batting practice about an hour later, the clouds had inflicted heavy casualties on the other side and were threatening to win the battle in a romp. That seems like a pretty good metaphor for the tack Oakland's 2010 season is on at the moment. What started off in azure warmth is beginning to go cold and gray. The Elephants have lost five of six games ...
If the level of reads is an indication of the level of interest and spirit of the Oakland Raiders and Raider Nation, then Raider Nation wins a "championship" of more reads on the Bleacher Report team page than most other teams. A survey of the top writers on a selected number of team pages was conducted, where the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints were added to the survey. The other teams belong to the AFC West. The rationale for picking the Steelers is that they have won more Super Bowls than the other NFL teams, and since the Saints won Super ...
Raider Nation has seen its share of great running backs. That has led me to make a list of the top 10 running backs in Raiders history. Sorry, Eric Dickerson is disqualified. As great as he was, he did most of his damage before coming into Raider Nation. Being a great Raiders running back isn't just about stats. There is only one who has put up big numbers over his career with the Raiders. But they all have one thing in common. They are all team guys and helped the Raiders win by any means necessary. Let's get started!Begin Slideshow
Bob Geren's continued misuse of the Oakland A's bullpen is getting very tiresome. Here we have another game in which Geren's decisions were headscratching to say the least.  Geren did make one right decision, however, and that was taking Gio Gonzalez out after he pitched seven solid innings and bringing in Craig Breslow. This was because Breslow has been the most consistent reliever out of the bullpen this year for the A's. Every other decision Geren made after that cost the A's runs and the game.  After Breslow pitched an inning, he was relieved by Andrew Bailey, the A's closer for the ninth ...
It's been more than a year that I have been contributing to the Oakland Raiders' page. Some of the folks who were involved in the great debate about the needs of the team are nowhere to be seen or heard these days on the Oakland Raiders' page. Where have some of the lovers gone? Admittedly, we may have disagreed with some viewpoints, but surely some of the guys enjoy a good debate and did not quit. I just hope that some of these guys have gone on to taller heights in sports writing and that they just might come back and say hello to those of ...
