As training camps approach, Raider Nation is getting more and more excited about the upcoming 2010 NFL season. All the positive reports and personnel improvements have created a buzz in the bay area. Bold predictions abound, but for any of them (including my own) to come true, several players must break out and have good years. Both the offense and defense must play up to, or beyond, expectations in order for the Raiders to give the fans what they truly want, a winning season. This slide show will cover 10 players—five offensive and five defensive—that I feel will have breakout years ...
If I had enough money, I would put this on billboards for Al Davis to see. I just can't seem to let it go. I have 10 scientific and logical reasons why Huff should play corner for the Raiders. Let's get started!Begin Slideshow
In Raider Nation there is truly a lining of Silver that has encompassed our Black cloud the last seven years. We've drafted skilled players like Rolando McClain, Lamarr Houston, Walter Mcfadden, and Jacoby Ford (Just to name a few) who can make an immediate impact. We've picked up Hue Jackson as our OC, he has brought fire into the Raider attitude. We've brought in starters such as John Henderson to clog the run, and Kamerion Wimbley to kill the QB. All of that is key for sure! But one piece to our puzzle is a universal piece to success. Quarterback, Jason Campbell. I'll be going ...
The 2009 season will be remembered as one of the worse in Raiders history, a 5-11 record yet again.  But in this time of crisis, Tom Cable made his opening statement in the court of Al Davis.  When Cable was asked by a reporter, "Would the Raiders be in the playoffs with average QB play?", Cable replied "Absolutely."  So Al Davis went out and got Jason Campbell, who will be the determining factor in the debate for Tom Cable to return after the 2010 season. Jason Campbell and Tom Cable resemble Rich Gannon and Jon Gruden. When Gannon signed with the Raiders, Jon ...
The Fourth of July is a day we celebrate freedom, justice, liberty, and independence. Freedom can take on so many different meanings. It can mean so much to the Oakland Raiders to embrace the freedom that comes with a victorious season in 2010. Were you recently laid off? Well, you probably are seeking and searching for a job so that you can have the money to enjoy life without a lot of debt and stress. Freedom from stress is something some folks are looking forward to. The Oakland Raiders have had a lot of stress in the past seven years. The value ...
Ah, getting back to the old routine, isn't it great?  Here I am, back at the helm, writing more articles and once again commenting on JaMarcus Russell's situation.  In my time away, I found myself pondering the NFL a little during my everyday travels.  At times, I couldn't help but feel out of the loop a little, as if I may have missed some kind of Brett Favre signing news, or a new possibility for still homeless wide receiver Terrell Owens to sign with this season. However, now that I have returned, I have come to the conclusion that the NFL world is ...
Every year, it seems a couple players on a team will leap out of nowhere and become impact players. The Raiders are no different. We've seen Nnamdi Asomugha and Tyvon Branch become one of the best at their respective positions. Tommy Kelly was 5th in the NFL in tackles made by a DT. This year, our team is young. VERY young. A lot of rookies and 2nd/3rd/4th year players. So who will shine? Who will suprise? This list will be of the five players who'll make a surprising impact. And why it'd be surprising.Begin Slideshow
The Road to perfection is long and hard and every team dreams of going 16-0. The 2010 Raiders are much improved and should have a chance to win every game this season and win the division. Who knows, they may even be adding a fourth Lombardi Trophy. Here is a game by game breakdown of what the Raiders need to do to win each and every game.Begin Slideshow
According to Alex Marvez of Sirius NFL Radio, Jason Campbell has been working out with Brett Favre to get ready for the 2010 season. Viking fans should be happy as to what little doubt about Favre's intention to return has apparently been erased. As for Raider fans, well let's just say it's much nicer to hear your quarterback is working out with a future Hall of Famer as opposed to what we've heard the past few offseasons. This actually comes as no surprise as Favre and Campbell have been fishing buddies in the past and are from the same area of Mississippi. The two of ...
In no way do I mean to disrespect Mr. Al Davis or Tom Cable. They have done an awesome job this offseason. There are just a few more moves that need to be made. I believe these moves could possibly make the Raiders a Super Bowl contender. Who knows! These moves may already be on the way. There is still a month left before trainning camp starts. Let's get started.Begin Slideshow
