This is ridiculous. Same old safety being out of position long touchdown runs? How much can we take?
Mitchell is always in position. Did the coaches not see the goal-line stop and the two run plays he blew up?
Dont listen to the false rumor that someone posted to the Internet about coaches wanting to release him.
He can be a Hall of Famer if you give him a chance. I am not kidding. I watched every play from last year and he is the real deal.
We cannot afford to wait any longer. Safety is the last line of defense for these long ...
After an off-season where the word 'hope' was thrown around more than the Obama Campaign, the Oakland Raiders started the 2010 campaign in nightmarish fashion. The Raiders came out completely flat against the Tennessee Titans in their road opener, finishing the game with a loss that was far worse than the score indicates.
Though giving up 38 points is never a good sign, the massive score should not be placed entirely on the defense. Oakland's offense was non-existent for the first three quarters of the game and provided the Titans with a short field numerous times.
The defense started the game strong, ...
Tom Cable's Oakland Raider's were pathetic in Tennessee on opening day. Basic Cable has been excused for his incapacity at the expense of the team and Raider Nation by scapegoating certain players. His team has no rhythm or leadership and they are ill prepared and highly predictable week in and week out.
The Raider's don't have anyone else to blame but Cable, whom was supposed to be an O-line Guru when he arrived in Oakland three years ago. The offensive line was atrocious once again despite the quarterback in Tennessee. Gallery is still penalty prone, Henderson is too slow for the ...

Some have to wonder, is this what the Raiders had in mind when their pick was announced during the first round of the draft?
Week one, against the Titans.
Chris Johnson, getting the ball, runs towards the line. With a stutter-step, he slips between a tackle and guard, rams into Kirk Morrison, and flattens him.
76 yards later, the crowd is going wild, as the Titans have an early lead.
Not exactly a pretty picture.
Now, back to the draft. Most of the coaches, front office and players know the Raiders need help against the run. A team has a problem winning when your safeties ...
Sometimes I browse sports magazines in the bookstore. On page 74, of a publication titled, "2010 Football Preview," I noticed this annoying headline: "Oakland Raiders: No Longer a Joking Matter."
First, there has never been a time that the Oakland Raiders were a joking matter, although I admit there have been some challenges in the past seven years. Yet, the historical data has been so strong that even with those difficult years, the overall win-loss averages exceeded many of the other NFL teams.
Also, there have been some surprising victories even during those challenging years.
Next, I viewed the headlines of articles in that ...
Hello Raider Nation, and welcome to the first edition of PHK for the 2010 season. Some of you may remember the column from last season, but it is something I will be rolling out each week like I did last year. The pressures section will talk about those who I feel are under the most pressure for varying reasons going into that week's game. The hurries section will be quick hit points and random observations about the team in general. The knockdowns section will be dedicated to highlighting those misconceptions about the Raiders that have been proven to be wrong in the previous ...
Finally after what seems like forever, the Oakland Raiders take the field and play a game that matters. First games are big for everyone, but for the Raiders and their fans, this is the game that will show the world where the Raiders are after all their offseason improvements. They will visit the Titans in Tennessee on Sunday and will be facing the NFL's top rusher, Chris Johnson. That is quite the task in Week 1 for a team that has a history of not stopping the run. Let's look at 10 predictions that I think will happen during the ...
Trevor Scott had usurped Thomas Howard as the Raider's starting linebacker much to my dismay and other sane followers of Oakland Raider football. There are reports from local Bay area "newspapers" that Howard is somehow grateful to be sitting behind someone who is not even a natural linebacker.
Scott is an excellent sack-master, and well, an excellent sack-master who has been playing out of position with the NFL's new DE/LB-hybrid thing they got going on. Scott is strictly a situational player and should not hold up two positions as one player. There is no logic for Howard to be sitting on ...
