I've seen the Oakland Raiders' top 10 all-time players list on NFL network many times. There have been so many Raiders who have done so many different things that any top-10 list would be hard to do. But I had to make my version of the Raiders' top 10 all-time players list, as I couldn't agree with NFL Network. I factored in stats, impact, Super Bowls, All-Pro selections, Pro Bowl selections, clutch plays, memorable plays and degree of difficulty players played under. You will agree with some and disagree with others on this list. To be honest with you, I've changed my mind many ...
The football season may be over for the Oakland Raiders players however Silver and Black management alongside owner Al Davis are still working on making the team even better than it was last season. Last season the Oakland Raiders had a bit of controversy at QB, yet the team went 8-8 and defeated the AFC West with determination and power. The Raiders are working to restore greatness and with free agency around the corner and the 2011 NFL draft, the Raiders should become the playoff team they need to be.  Al Davis has thus far released  former coach Tom Cable ...
The Oakland Athletics have been making a lot of moves this offseason and center fielder Coco Crisp has taken notice. The nine-year veteran is optimistic about the team's chances of winning the American League West title in 2011."If we can keep everybody healthy this year, if it’s in the cards that it plays out that way," Crisp said, "we definitely have a better shot than we did last year to win the division."Crisp is ready to hit the field and the get the season underway. He recently started working out at the Athletes' Performance Institute in Carson, Calif., and already has his ...
It has been 689 days since Major League Baseball began their review of the A's stadium situation and options. There has been no report made public, and no clear indication of whether the A's will make their new home near Jack London Square, or 40 miles South of the Coliseum in San Jose. Since their wait began, the only thing that has become clear is that the A's can not wait any longer for an answer. The Oakland A's have long maintained that they need a new stadium in order to remain successful as a franchise both on the field and ...
An article was written a few minutes ago. It was erased. Let’s just say that there was a malfunction.  This article is a response to Tim Graham’s request for a discussion of who is the greatest deep threat. Here is the quote: Jerry Rice: Automatically comes to mind in any receiver debate. Warren Wells: John Madden calls him one of the greatest players he coached. In 1969, Wells averaged 26.8 yards per catch with 14 touchdowns on only 42 catches. James Lofton: Averaged over 20 yards a catch five times in his Hall of Fame career. Bob Hayes: Olympic gold-medal sprinter revolutionized ...
The Oakland Raiders should have been in the 2011 NFL Playoffs. That is an absolute true fact that can't be refuted. Okay, I'm being naive. However, I truly do believe that the Raiders belonged in the playoffs this year. They had a top 10 offense and ranked 11th in defense. What held them back? Well, inept coaching, stupid kicking mistakes and injuries all contributed to Oakland's mediocre and unacceptable (in Al Davis' eyes) record this (or is it last) season. However, the main thing that killed the Raiders in 2010 was poor, and I mean very poor, offensive line play. A plethora of things contributed ...
Today I saw an article by Tim Graham. He wanted to stimulate a discussion on "Who is the Greatest Deep Threat?" Here is the link. What do you think?  Read more Oakland Raiders news on BleacherReport.com

We here at Baseball Professor think about our readers first and ourselves second—albeit a close second. That’s why we decided to reach out to other bloggers (who follow their respective teams more closely than we do) to give you a deeper look into the important issues every fantasy owner has to come to grips with this season. Our fourth installment is with the Oakland Athletics and comes courtesy of  Dan Hennessey from Baseballin' on a Budget. For a complete trip around the Majors, check out the other 2011 team previews in this series.1. Despite playing in just 75 games last year, Coco Crisp stole a ...
LA is gonna get a team at some point, possibly two. The NFL more or less have a pretty good geographic based on division process. The only team that really doesn't fit is the Dallas Cowboys in the East, but that's to keep their rivalries with the Redskins, Giants and Eagles (mostly Redskins).Oh, and the Colts are in the South, but other than that, everything's pretty good geographically.LA is looking at seven franchises. In order of likeliness, they are the Jaguars, Bills, Vikings, Chargers, Raiders, Rams and 49ers. Los Angeles would preferably play in the West, so they could have ...
