McClain will miss the entire 2012 NFL season as his sentence is scheduled to begin June 1. To make matters worse, assuming McClain's attorneys are able to delay or reduce the sentence, he is ...

Even though Peyton Manning is with the Denver Broncos, the Oakland Raiders will get back to the postseason for the time since 2003. The Broncos are not the only team who will be better for the 2012 season. The Kansas City Chiefs will have Jamal Charles healthy again, and they acquired Peyton Hillis in the offseason to share the load.Although the San Diego Chargers lost Vincent Jackson to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Phillip Rivers won't be throwing another 20 interceptions anytime soon. Ryan Mathews will resume his role as the feature back with Mike Tolbert in Carolina.   The AFC West will ...
The Oakland Raiders desperately need a veteran receiving presence on their roster, and signing Terrell Owens would make a lot of sense.Owens recently worked out with Carson Palmer and several of the Oakland Raiders' young receivers. Afterwards, Palmer praised Owens' work ethic and practice habits and remarked that it had been influential for the young wideouts to see him work. The Raiders could really use a veteran to show their young receiving corps how to get things done at the NFL level. Bringing in a guy with Owens' credentials would have the same effect that adding a veteran quarterback like Palmer ...
The A's are far exceeding expectations early in 2012. Jarrod Parker has lived up to the hype so far for the Oakland Athletics. The rookie has allowed only six earned runs in 25.2 innings pitched this season with an ERA of 2.10. With a long way to go in 2012 and a future that appears endless, what can the 23-year-old accomplish in the next few years? Here are five things Parker could accomplish sooner than later.Begin Slideshow
The Raiders were the only team in the 2012 NFL draft to receive a third-round compensatory selection, as a result of the loss of star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha to free agency. They were lucky that the NFL granted them this selection, or they would have had no selections on either of the first two days of the draft. The Raiders actually received compensatory selections in each of the third, fourth and fifth rounds, but came into the draft without five of their seven original draft picks, including their picks from each of the ...
For the second straight game, the Oakland A's offense was stymied by great starting pitching, and fell in Arlington to the Texas Rangers by a score of 4-1. Japanese sensation Yu Darvish improved to 6-1 with the win while the A's Tom Milone fell to 5-3 with loss. For his part, Milone was not bad. He went seven innings and allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk with four strikeouts. The damage was all done in the fourth inning for Oakland. After Josh Hamilton reached on an infield single, Adrian Beltre hit an opposite field, two-run home run to give ...
What a long, strange trip it’s been for Manny Ramirez.Last May, the veteran slugger was languishing with the Tampa Bay Rays before he abruptly retired in lieu of serving a 100-game suspension for the second positive drug test result of his career.Fast-forward seven months to last December, when Ramirez got the itch to play again and formally requested reinstatement by Major League Baseball. In a somewhat surprising move, he landed with the Oakland Athletics, who signed him this past February to a minor league contract. And here we are in mid-May, and Ramirez is nearing completion of his 50-game suspension ...
