Kansas City fell to 2-12 after a 15-0 loss to Oakland Sunday afternoon.Despite the rough outing, we managed to find a set of winners and losers, as we do each week. The Chiefs didn't move the chains until the second half and were given multiple opportunities to punch the football to the end zone while controlling the ball in the red zone. However, the Chiefs couldn't finish strong on those drives and were shutout for four quarters. Here are your winners and losers from Sunday's loss.Begin Slideshow
For the first time since 2002, the Oakland Raiders held an opponent to zero points on the scoreboard. Surprisingly enough, that team in 2002 was the Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders' final home game of the 2012 season featured an Oakland defense that completely dominated their longtime AFC West rival in every facet of the game. The offense had a difficult time putting points on the board, but the defense took advantage of a Dwayne Bowe-less Chiefs team that put up an absolute stinker. It was a fantastic way for the Raiders to snap their six-game losing streak and it gave the fans ...
Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor saw his first action of the 2012 NFL season Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs after the coaching staff decided to bench Carson Palmer. Pryor only remained in the game for three offensive snaps, and the first and only pass he attempted was in the dirt. That didn't stop Twitter from blowing up over Pryor's debut. Pryor, the man from Ohio State who the Raiders selected in the Supplemental Draft, may or may not be the answer under center for the Raiders. Let's take a look at how the Twitter world reacted.   Terrelle Pryor in at quarterback for the ...
The Oakland A's were not going to be the biggest players in free agency this winter. So far, they have made a nice move to acquire Chris Young, but mostly the status quo remains in effect. A lot of that is due in part because of the fact that the majority of the major parts are locked up and young (Anderson, Cespedes, Reddick and Parker). But that does not mean the A's don't have the potential to make roster moves in 2013. However, the chances appear greater that those moves will be within the organization. There are a likely trio of ...
The Oakland Raiders should explore their options in the trade market with star running back Darren McFadden during the offseason because of his inability to stay on the field consistently. He is listed as probable for Week 15 (via ESPN) after suffering an injury last week against the Denver Broncos, but McFadden has not been a reliable player this season because of injuries, and this is unlikely to change moving forward.McFadden has played in just nine of the Raiders' 13 games this season, and over his entire career, he has missed 23 games in four-plus seasons. He was leading the NFL in ...
Week 15 game action between the Oakland Raiders and AFC West rival Kansas City Chiefs is now over. The Raiders shut out the Chiefs 15-0 en route to their fourth win of the season. The Oakland Raiders are going through their growing pains this year. The loss of owner Al Davis was very difficult for the Raider Nation, as was a host of other changes and obstacles.Bringing in a new general manager. Bringing in a new coaching staff. Being in salary cap purgatory. Releasing players and not having quality draft picks. The injuries did not help much either. Reggie McKenzie and staff will have to hit a home run with this draft. Lets get started.Begin Slideshow
As a fantasy football owner who has been riding the King Carson wave of production for the past couple of months, please allow me to be the first to tell you something: this is the week to bench him.Now before you cry foul, point to the dreadful opponent (the Chiefs) and stick your feet in the ground, please consider the following:Player A: 238 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception per gamePlayer B: 309 yards, 1.6 touchdowns, 1 interception per gamePlayer C: 209 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception per gameIn an ideal world, which of those three quarterbacks would you want starting ...
The Oakland Raiders (3-10) and the Kansas City Chiefs (2-11) are the scourge of the AFC West. Why stop there? Both teams have been walked all over in 2012. Let's call it like we see it.Offensively, the Chiefs have been atrocious this season. Factor in the team losing Dwayne Bowe this week and things could get ugly. That isn't a testament to the prowess of the equally struggling Oakland Raiders defense, either. When two teams are struggling as badly as they are, they tend to come out and play inspired football down the stretch. It says a lot about the character of a ...
