With the recent moves made by the Oakland Raiders, quarterback Terrelle Pryor is smart to request a trade as he tries to find a better situation with a different NFL team.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Raiders recently acquired two-time Pro Bowl quarterback Matt Schaub from the Houston Texans in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft. Schaub struggled in his final season with the Texans, but it looks likely that he'll be the starting QB in Oakland next season.
That's not exactly the best situation for Pryor, who started nine games for the Raiders last season. Now, ...

The Oakland Raiders aren't ruling out a return to Los Angeles.
Owner Mark Davis isn't ready to abandon Oakland just yet, but he told reporters Sunday that a move isn't out of the question, as Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com relayed from the NFL's annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.:
We’re not done in Oakland. We’re trying really hard, and we’ll see how that goes. But Los Angeles is something that I’ve definitely thought about and haven’t pursued. There are other places as well. Until we can find out if Oakland is real, then I’m still staying in Oakland. If we can get something done ...
Finally out of a difficult salary cap situation, general manager Reggie McKenzie and the Oakland Raiders were extremely busy when free agency got under way this month.
Spending on free agents alone is no way to build a team, but the Raiders needed to add quality talent in short order.
The signings already made have the potential to make the team that much more competitive in the short term, while younger players continue to be added through the draft and developed in the years to follow.

For Oakland A's fans, the term "March Madness" reflects their team's crazy spring training. One major player is out for the season and another isn't hitting. But there is good news: A few guys you might not have expected to hit so well have been pleasant surprises.
Spring training is meant to answer a team's questions.
Oakland's did just that, but the answers weren't exactly what anyone might've thought. The rotation looks completely different than many predicted, and injuries have altered Opening Day plans a tad too.
From surprises to disappointments to key injuries, the roster has been affected.

The Oakland Raiders are reportedly trading a late-round 2014 NFL draft pick for Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Could the Raiders still be in the market for a QB with the fifth pick in the draft? Will they look to draft a developmental QB in the late rounds? Could this push Terrelle Pryor off the roster?

The Oakland Raiders have put an emphasis on improving their offensive line through free agency. After losing left tackle Jared Veldheer to the Arizona Cardinals, the Raiders have signed offensive linemen Austin Howard, Kevin Boothe and Donald Penn.
The Raiders also voided the deal for Rodger Saffold, a player some had penciled in at guard even though the monetary commitment indicated otherwise.
With the signing of tackles Penn and Howard, the plan for last year’s second-round pick Menelik Watson is unclear. Watson will have to win a job outright by beating out players the Raiders are paying to be starters.
Watson’s performance will also ...
Charles Woodson is returning to Oakland for another season.
The veteran defensive back, who spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Raiders, rejoined the Silver and Black in 2013 after seven campaigns with the Green Bay Packers. According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, the two sides have agreed on another one-year contract:
The Raiders made things official on Friday:
Entering his 17th season in the league, the 37-year-old may not be the same player he once was, but there's little question he can still play.
In 2013, Woodson showed flashes of his younger self, playing nearly every snap and recording two sacks, an interception, ...
The Oakland Raiders are now well into the all-important free-agency period of the 2014 offseason and have done well to make use of their influx in salary-cap space to this point.
After a curious start to the offseason, letting two young talents in Jared Veldheer and Lamarr Houston seek work elsewhere, general manager Reggie McKenzie seems to have made up for it quite nicely.
Finding proven veterans at positions of need seems to be the focus, and the Raiders have been able to bring in quite a few who should make a difference for the team heading into 2014.
Although they are most ...
Setting realistic expectations for the plethora of bodies the Oakland Raiders went out and added during free agency is a fantastic way to try and figure out what the future holds for this storied franchise.
Entering the free-agent market, Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie was equipped with enough cap space, per OverTheCap, to go out and fortify the team's ailing roster.
Acting as a doctor of sorts, McKenzie's remedy for turning around the misfortunes of the Silver and Black ran into trouble early on.
After signing St. Louis Rams offensive lineman Rodger Saffold to a whopping five-year, $42.5 million deal, CBS Sports NFL Insider ...
